Kalay gets nursing & midwifery training school

A NURSING and midwifery training school was inaugurated in Kalay,Sagaing Region, fulfilling the need for producing nurses and midwives in the region.


The stone plaque of the school was unveiled by President U Thein Sein. Speaking on the occasion, the president called on local people to strive for regional development as the government has assisted in development infrastructures for transportation, education, electricity supply sectors.


The nursing and midwifery school was constructed at the cost of more than K2.9 billion from the budget of the 2014-2015 FY.


The school will contribute to upgrading health standards and creating job opportunities for local people. It was formally opened by Union Minister for Health Dr Than Aung, Chief Minister of Sagaing Region U Tha Aye and Principal of the training school drWaiWaiLwin.
