Vice President assists in development infrastructures in Maungtaw

Chairman of the investigation Commission on maungtaw Vice President U Myint Swe has assisted in establishing an industrial zone, a highway terminal and a hospital in Maungtaw, Rakhine State, yesterday.


The Vice President visited the sites chosen for the infrastructures for the development of Maungtaw and fulfilled the requirements.


Following the visit, U Myint Swe and rakhine State Chief minister U Nyi Pu visited the 50- bed hospital in Maungtaw and inspected the health care services at the hospital.


Vice President U Myint Swe also visited the Kanyinchaung Trade Zone and assisted in ongoing construction works including a jetty. Kanyinchaung Trade Zone is aimed at promoting border trade volume, with handling cargo ships at its Kanyinchaung Jetty. Maungtaw District has possessed good prospects for development as the trade zone is expected to support export rather than import due to high demand from the neighbouring country.
