 The President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar had already granted amnesty for 452 prisoners in accord with Section 204 (a) of the Constitution and Section 401 (1) of Code of Criminal Procedures on 15 November 2012 for turning them into citizens who do their bits in nation building tasks realizing compassion and goodwill of the State. On 16 November, 66 prisoners were also granted amnesty. Number of prisoners who were granted amnesty on 15 and 16 November were 518, it is learnt.
