Additional statistical bulletin on drug seizures, acting on information


1. In order to prevent and eradicate the dangers of narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs, the Office of the President has formed the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department on 26 June 2018 to systematically accept and respond to reports on drug abuses and other related cases from the general public.

2. With orders from the Office of the President, the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department relayed information on reports on drug-related offenses up to 21 September 2019 to the Ministry of Home Affairs to take action, as displayed below:

Information received of Daw Chaw Sein who lives in Nyaungpintha Village, Hsinbo Township, Kachin State, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 18 September 2019, police searched the house of Daw Chaw Sein, 46, daughter of U Kyaw Khin, who lives in Nyaungpintha Village, Hsinbo Township, and arrested her together with heroin.

A case has been opened her with NaMaSa (Hsinbo) MaYa(pa)15/2019 under Section 16(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psycho- tropic Substances Law.

Information received of Kyaw Sein Win who lives in Zigon Village, Hopin Township,Kachin State, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 18 September 2019, police inspected a motorcycle near the Nang Mon mountain, 7-mile Village-tract, Hopin Township. It was ridden by Kyaw Sein Win, 41, son of U Sergyi and Kyaw Zin Aung, 29, son of U Aung Win, who live in Zigon Village, and arrested them together with heroin.

A case has been opened them with NaMaSa (Hopin) MaPa (pa)54/2019 under Section 16(c) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Aung Tun Lin who lives in Thaungmyin Village, Indaw Township, Sagaing Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 15 September 2019, police searched the house of Aung Tun Lin, 45, son of U Nyo Hmaing, who lives in Thaungmyin Village, Indaw Township, and found him ac companied by Tin Maung Lwin, 34, son of U Aung Thein, Tharshin (a) Myint Shein, 48, son of U Aung Gyi who live in Lepyin Village. Police seized heroin from them.
A case has been opened them with MaMaSa(Indaw) MaYa (Pa)93/2019 under Section 16(c) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Than Aung who lives in Sinnaing Village, Homalin Township, Sagaing Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 17 September 2019, police searched the house of Than Aung, 54, son of U Tun Yin, who lives in Sinnaing Village, Homalin Township, and arrested him together
with heroin.

A case has been opened him with NaMaSa (Htamanthi) MaYa(pa)21/2019 under Section 19(a) and 20 (a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Cho Aye who lives in Chaikthin Village, Htigyaing Township,Sagaing Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 18 September 2019, police inspected a motorcycle near Thitsinin Village, Htigyaing Township. It was ridden
by Cho Aye, 54, son of U San Win and Myo Min Tun, 31, son of U Aung Kyi, who live in Chaikthin Village, and arrested them together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.
A case has been opened them with MaMaSa(Htigyaing)MaPa (pa)41/2019 under Section 16(c) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Poe Nyi who lives in Leikhton Village, Katha Township, Sagaing Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 20 September 2019, police searched the house of Poe Nyi (a) Win Than, 40, son of U Tin Oo, who lives in Leikhton Village, Katha Township, and arrested him
together with heroin.

A case has been opened him with MaMaSa (Katha)MaYa(pa)85/2019 under Section 19 (a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Win Nyunt who lives in Leikhton Village, Katha Township, Sagaing Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 20 September 2019, police searched the house of Win Nyunt, 49, son of U Tin Oo, who lives in Leikhton Village, Katha Township, and police found him accompanied by Kyaw Tint, 32, son of U Nwar Maung, who lives the same village. Police arrested them together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets and heroin.

A case has been opened them with MaMaSa(Katha)MaYa(pa)86/2019 under Section 19(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Kyaw Thura who lives in Ohebo Village, Mawlaik Township, Sagaing Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 21 September 2019, police arrested Kyaw Thura, 33, son of U Khin Maung Hla, who lives in Ohebo Village, Mawlaik Township, Thein Ko (a) Myint Maung, 46, son of U Aung Tin, who lives in the same village, Kyaw Min Latt (a) Eai Toke, 36, son of U Chit Htay, who lives in Mawleikkalay village, and Lin Lin Tun (a) Kalargyi, 23, son of U Thaung Myint, who lives in Kintat Village, in the Maekazet Village’s cemetary, Mawlaik Township
together with heroin.

A case has been opened them with MaMaSa(Mawlaik)MaYa(pa)43/2019 under Section 16(c), 20(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Naing Nge who lives in Myaynitaung Village, Kyunsu Township, Taninthayi Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 15 September 2019, police searched the house of Naing Nge (a) Htay Naing, 38, son of U Maung Thein, who lives in Myaynitaung Village, Kyunsu Township,
and arrested him together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened him with NaMaSa (Kanhmaw) MaYa (pa) 34/2019 under Section 19(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Ngapain who lives in Hsedawgyi Village, Madaya Township, Mandalay Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 19 September 2019, police searched the house of Ngapain, 22, son of U Soe Lwin, who lives in Hsedawgyi Village, Madaya Township, and arrested him together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened him with NaMaSa (Hsedawgyi)MaYa(pa)4/2019 under Section 16(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Than Soe Oo who lives in Shwenantha 2 Ward, Hmawby Township, Yangon Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 15 September 2019, police searched the house of Than Soe Oo, 19, son of U Aung Moe, who lives in Shwenantha 2 Ward, Hmawby Township, and arrested him together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened him with MaMaSa (Hmawby)MaYa(pa)25/2019 under Section 19(a), 20(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Myo Min Aung who lives in Taungni Village, Taunggyi Township, Shan State, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 17 September 2019, police searched the house of Myo Min Aung, 30, son of U Kyi Maung, who lives in Taungni Village, Taunggyi Township, and arrested him together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets on the road of Taungni Village, Taunggyi.

A case has been opened him with NaMaSa (Shwenyaung) MaYa(pa)56/2019 under Section 16(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.


3. Out of the information sent to the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department, so far a total of 761 cases have been opened files as of 21 September 2019. A total of 1183 people, including 999 men and 184 women had been arrested with 6946.1084 g of heroin, 1318.72 g of ICE, 39776.95 g of opium, 329.6 g of low-quality opium, 19809.27 g of speciosa powder, 7833.19 g of speciosa, 2.5 liters of liquid speciosa, 340912 stimulant tablets, 8363.22 g of marijuana, 0.1 liters of opium tincture, 513.26 g of opium blocks, 60 g of poppy seeds, 29.15 g of crushed stimulant tablet powder, 0.001 g of crushed ecstasy powder, 18 firearms, different kinds of 257 cartridges and one grenade. Efforts for fighting the drug trafficking has been stepped up and the department will report on further exposed cases.

To seize further drugs and to arrest drugs dealers, people are urged to inform the Ministry of Home Affairs, region and state governments and to inform huge cases of drug trafficking and other suspicious cases directly to the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department of the Office of the President via following contact numbers:
