Additional statistical bulletin on drug seizures, acting on information


1. In order to prevent and eradicate the dangers of narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs, the Office of the President has formed the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department on 26 June 2018 to systematically accept and respond to reports on drug abuses and other related cases from the general public.

2. With orders from the Office of the President, the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department relayed information on reports on drug-related offenses up to 30 November 2019 to the Ministry of Home Affairs to take action, as displayed below:

Information received of some people distributing and selling illegal drugs in temporary huts located in a mile east of Naungpat Village, Bamauk Town ship, Sagaing Region.


On 25 November 2019, police searched the temporary hut located in a mile east of Naungpat Village, Bamauk Township, and found Eiyaw, 34, son of U Tin Maung, who lives in Kankon Village, and Hla Khine, 39, son of U Ba Win, who lives in Inn Village, Indaw Township, together with heroin.

A case has been opened against them with NaMaSa (Mansigyi) MaYa(pa)44/2019 under Section 16(c) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Win Pe and Daw Khin Aye who live in Pinmu Village, Pinlebu Township, Sagaing Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 28 November 2019, police searched the house of Win Pe, 55, son of U Chwe, who lives in Pinmu Village, Pinlebu Township, but he wasn’t in his house. Police found and arrested his wife Daw Khin Aye, 51, daughter of U Maung Eain, together with heroin.
A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa(Pinlebu) MaYa(pa)85/2019 under Section 16(c) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Arnoe (a) Phyo Wei Tun who lives in No 5 Ward,ChaukTownship, Magway Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 26 November 2019, police inspected two motorcycles on the road towards Chauk Township, driven by Arnoe (a) Pyoe Wei Tun, 23, son of U Kyi Myo, who lives in No 5 Ward, and Thurain Oo (a) Tayokegyi, 19, son of U Min Min Oo, who lives in No 13 Ward, in Chauk Township. During the inspection, Arnoe (a) Pyoe Wei Tun ran away from there and Thurain Oo (a) Tayokegyi was arrested together with ‘88/1’ stimulant tablets. A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa(Chauk) MaYa(pa)2/2019 under Section 19(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of people using, distributing and selling illegal drugs in No 5 Yenanmeethat Ward, Chauk Township, Magway Region.


On 26 November 2019, police searched the house of Myat Htike, 27, son of U Aung Moe Htike, who lives in No 5 Yenanmeethat Ward, Chauk Township, and found him accompanied by Myo Thiha Naing, 20, son of U Tin Myo Win, who lives in No 12, Thankankon Ward, the same township, and Htoo Wei Yan, 23, son of U Than Swe, who lives in Yankyaw Ward, Magway Township. They were arrested together with ‘88/1’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa(Chauk) MaYa(pa)3/2019 under Section 19(a), 20(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of people distributing and selling illegal drugs along Ayethayar Street, Setyon su Ward, Sittway Town
ship, Rakhine State.


On 24 November 2019, police searched the house of San Myat Nwe, 25, son of U Maung Than Shwe, who lives in Setyonsu Ward, Sittway Township, and found him accompanied by Moe Thu, 26, son of U Kyaw Thu, Kyaw Nyunt Oo, 26, son of U Tun Aung Kyaw, and Soe Min Tun, 25, son of U Hla Aye Maung, who live in the same ward, Nyein Chan Aung, 17, son of U Aung Nay Soe, who lives in Mingan Ward, and Zin Myo Hlaing, 16, son of U Than Tun Hlaing, who lives in Hsetyokya Ward, Sittway Township. They were arrested together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa(Sittway) MaYa(pa)40/2019 under Section 16(c), 20(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Ma Aye Aye Maw and Zin Ko Oo who live in Myothit (c) Ward, Insein Town ship, Yangon Region, using, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 24 November 2019, police searched the house of Ma Aye Aye Maw, 29, daughter of U Tin Win, who lives in Myothit (c) Ward, Insein Township, arrested her and her husband Soe Lay (a) Thiha Soe, 31, son of U Soe Win, together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.
A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa(In sein) MaYa(pa)193/2019 under Section 16(c) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. Similarly, police searched the house of Zin Ko Oo, 31, son of U Myo Myint, who lives in the same ward, but police did not find him in his house. Police seized ‘WY’ stimulant tablets in the house.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa(In sein) MaYa(pa)194/2019 under Section 16(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Ahphwargyi who lives in Hmawset Ward, Dala Township, Yangon Region, distributing and
selling illegal drugs.


On 27 November 2019, police searched the house of Ahphwargyi (a) Daw Lone (a) Daw San Yi, 73, daughter of U Hla Pe, who lives in Kyauksein Street, Hmawset Ward, Dala Township, arrested her and her daughter Ma Chit The Oo, 24, daughter of U Kyaw Swar Win, together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.
A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa(Da la) MaYa(pa)48/2019 under Section 16(c) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.


3. Out of the information sent to the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department, so far a total of 873 cases have been opened files as of 30 November 2019. A total of 1337 people, including 1,118 men and 219 women had been arrested with 7,146.8494 g of heroin, 1,347.32 g of ICE, 39,999.61 g of opium, 389.92 g of low-quality opium, 53230.76 g of speciosa powder, 7,833.19 g of speciosa, 2.5 liters of liquid speciosa, 430,196 stimulant tablets, 8,406.52 g of marijuana, 0.1 liters of opium tincture, 520.28 g of opium blocks, 60 g of poppy seeds, 29.15 g of crushed stimulant tablet powder, 0.001 g of crushed ecstasy powder, 18 firearms, different kinds of 257 cartridges and one grenade. Efforts for fighting the drug trafficking has been stepped up and the department will report on further exposed cases.

4. To seize further drugs and to arrest drugs dealers, people are urged to inform the Ministry of Home Affairs, region and state governments and to inform huge cases of drug trafficking and other suspicious cases directly to the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department of the Office of the President via following contact numbers:
