Additional statistical bulletin on drug seizures, acting on information

1. In order to prevent and eradicate the dangers of narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs, the Office of the President has formed the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department on 26 June 2018 to systematically accept and respond to reports on drug abuses and other related cases from the general public.
2. With orders from the Office of the President, the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department relayed information on reports on drug-related offenses up to 21 December 2019 to the Ministry of Home Affairs to take action, as displayed below:

Information received of Phoe Aye who lives in Shwechi Ward, Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory,distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 16 December 2019, police searched the house of Phoe Aye (a) Aung Zeya, 31, son of U Kyaw Khine, who lives in Shwechi Ward, Pyinmana Township, and arrested him together with ‘88/1’ stimulant tablets and heroin.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa (Pyinmana)MaYa(pa)18/2019 under Section 19(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Tin San and his wife who live in Naungtar law Village, Waingmaw Township, Kachin State, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 21 December 2019, police searched the house of Tin San, 55, son of U Thar Tun, who lives in Naungtarlaw Village, Waingmaw Township. Police found only his wife Daw Bawm Nam, 52, daughter of U Saung Bawm, and mother-in-law Daw Ma Roun, 78, daughter of U Swam Lwam La Rayl, and arrested them together with opium.

A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa (Waingmaw)MaYa(pa)239/2019 under Section 19(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Kyaw Soe who lives in Kwantine Village, KhinU Township, Sagaing Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 18 December 2019, police searched a motorcycle driven by Kyaw Soe, 44, son of U Tin Oo, who lives in Kwantine Village, KhinU Township, on the street of the village and arrested him together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa (KhinU)MaYa(pa)9/2019 under Section 19(a) and 20(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Kan Win who lives in Nyaungthabyay Village, Mawleik Township, Sagaing Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 19 December 2019, police searched the house of Kan Win, 49, son of U Cho Pyone, who lives in Nyaungthabyay Village, Mawleik Township. Police found him and San Linn, 28, son of U Nyo Oo, Myo Hlaing Win, 24, son of U Maung Zaw, Hla Aung, 54, son of U Ba San and Win Ko, 43, son of U Ni Pon, who live in the Nyaungthabyay Village, and seized heroin and opium from them.

A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa (Mawleik)MaYa(pa)53/2019 under Section 16(c), 20(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of some people distributing and selling illegal drugs in Anawyahta 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 streets in Aungthukha Ward, Kawthoung Tsp, Taninthayi Region.


On 16 December 2019, police arrested Kyaw Swa Oo (a) Rajar, 18, son of U Kyaw Kyaw Oo, who lives in Anawyahta 4 street, at the top of Anawyahta 3 street, Aungthukha Ward, Kawthoung Township, together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa (Kawthoung)MaYa(pa)140/2019 under Section 19(a) and 20(a)of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Soe Htaik Oo who lives in No 1 Ward, Palauk Township, Taninthayi Region, using, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 17 December 2019, police arrested Soe Htaik Oo, 22, son of U Kyi Sein, who lives in No 1 Ward, Palauk Township, at the back of the Palauk creek, in the same ward, together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened against him with NaMaSa (Palauk)MaYa(pa)8/2019 under Section 16(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Sithu Myat Soe who lives in south Kayatpyin Ward, Dawei Township, Tanin
thayi Region, using, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 18 December 2019, police searched the house of Sithu Myat Soe (a) Poe Zuu, 27, son of U Myat Soe, who lives in south Kayatpyin Ward, Dawei Township, and arrested him together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa (Dawei)MaYa(pa)68/2019 under Section 19(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Nay Lin Oo who lives in Latpan Village, Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region, using, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


Police have opened three cases and arrested five men and two women together with heroin and stimulant tablets in the previous weeks.

Acting on a tip-off, police searched the house of Nay Lin Oo (a) Nay Lin Tun, 26, son of U Khin Maung Myint,who lives in Latpan Village, Kyaukse Township, on 18 December 2019. Police found him together with Bilar (a) Kyaw Khine, 18, son of U Mohammad Ali, who lives in No 10 Ward, and seized ‘88/1’ stimulant tablets from them.

A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa (Kyaukse)MaYa(pa)49/2019 under Section 19(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Aung Myint Oo who lives in No 1 Ward, North Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region, using, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 18 December 2019, police arrested Pyae Phyo Thu Lwin, 29, son of U Ngway Thein, who lives in No 1 Ward, North Okkalapa Township, at the corner of Thumeiktar road and No 18 Thumeiktar street, in the same ward, together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

Acting on a tip-off, police searched Aung Myint Oo, 40, son of U Han Sein, who lives in the same ward. But police did not find anything related drugs from him.

A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa (North Okkalapa)MaYa(pa)86/2019 under Section 16(c) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Shwe Phyo Aung (a) Bawlay who lives in Makyeetan south/west Ward,Kyimyindine Township, Yangon Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 20 December 2019, police arrested Shwe Phyo Aung (a) Baw Lay (a) Ko Phyo, 23, son of U Than Tun Aung, who lives in Makyeetan south/west Ward, Kyimyindine Township, at the corner of U Kywe Hoe street and Kannar Road, in the same ward, together with heroin. Police searched at the suspect’s house and seized marijuana.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa(Kyimyindine)MaYa(pa)24/2019 under section 16(c) of the
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received ofSai Pe who lives in Wawk
hot Village, Kengtung Township, eastern Shan State, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 15 December 2019, police searched the house of SaiPe, 54, son of U War Laine, who lives in Wawkhot Village, Kengtung Township, and arrested him together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa(Kengtung)MaYa(pa)278/2019 under Section 16(c) of
the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of some people distributing
and selling illegal drugs in Winmyintmor Co’s area, in Thekwin Thatala 1 Ward, Namtu Tsp, northern Shan State.


On 15 December 2019, police arrested Daw Aye Ai, 43, daughter of U Eik Hta, who lives in Panwaik Village,
Namsang Township, in the Winmyintmor Co’s area, in Thekwin Thatala 1 Ward, Namtu Tsp, together with
heroin.
A case has been opened against her with MaMaSa(Nam tu)MaYa(pa)15/2019 under section 16(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of some people using, distributing and selling illegal drugs in Panhike 8
Ward, Namtu Tsp, northern Shan State.


Police has opened eight cases and arrested nine men and a woman together with heroin and stimulant tablets in the previous weeks.

Acting on a tip-off, police searched the house of U Eik Aung, 60, son of U Eik Yan, who lives in Panhike 8 Ward, Namtu Township, on 15 December 2019, and arrested him together with heroin.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa(Nam tu)MaYa(pa)16/2019 under section 16(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Similarly, police searched the house of Hla Maung Oo, 22, son of U Chit Swe, who lives in the same Ward, and arrested him together with ‘88/1’ stimulant tablets and heroin.
A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa(Nam tu)MaYa(pa)17/2019 under section 19(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Yan Naing Soe who lives in Sithmuhtanhoung Ward, Lashio Township, northern Shan State, distributing and selling illegaldrugs.


On 16 December 2019, police searched the house of Naung Naung, 22, son of U Tin Thaung, who lives in Sithmuhtanhoung Ward, Lashio Township, and found him together with Yan Naing Soe, 25, son of U Khin Maung Yi, and Ma Myat Thu Zar, 23, daughter of U Myat Soe, who live in the same ward and Zaw Lin Htet (a) Pyay Ti Oo, 31, son of U San Thaung, who lives in Shankon Ward. Police arrested them together with ‘88/1’ stimulant tablets and stimulant tablet crush powder.
A case has been opened against them with NaMaSa (Lashio)MaYa(pa)41/2019 under Section 19(a), 20(a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Sai Soe Myint who lives
in Lwekyaine Village, Hai paw Township, northern Shan State, using, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 19 December 2019, police searched the house of Sai Soe Myint (a) Sai Aik Mann, 42, son of U Hsan Hla, who lives in Lwekyaine Village, Haipaw Township, and found him together with Sai Htwe (a) Naing Lin Htwe, 28, son of U Myint Aung Tun, who lives in Sanhlwan Village. Police arrested them together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.
A case has been opened against them with NaMaSa (Hsipaw)MaYa(pa)62/2019 under Section 16(c) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Khin Maung Tun (a) Phoe lone who lives in Ottantar Ward, Yaksawk Township, southern Shan State, dis tributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 18 December 2019, police searched the house of Khin Maung Tun (a) Phoelone, 46, son of U Maung Ohn, and his wife Daw Tin Moe Hlaing, 38, daughter of U Than Pe, who live in Ottantar Ward, Yaksawk Township, and arrested them together with opium.

A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa (Yaksawk)MaYa(pa)72/2019 under Section 16(c) and 21
of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Daw Than Than Oo who lives in Hsisonegongyi Village, Pinlaung Town ship, southern Shan State, distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 18 December 2019, police searched the house of Daw Than Than Oo, 35, daughter of U Tun Aung, who
lives in Hsisonegongyi Village, Pinlaung Township, and arrested her together with opium.

A case has been opened against her with NaMaSa (Phogone)MaYa(pa)5/2019 under Section 19(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Information received of Sai Tit and Ma Nan Lan who live in No 7 Ward,Kengtaung Township, southern Shan State,distributing and selling illegal drugs.


On 20 December 2019, police searched the house of Sai Tit (a) Sai Shount Tit, 29, son of U Kyaw Moe, and
Ma Nan Lan, 29, daughter of U Lone Sei who lives in No 7 Ward, Kengtaung Township, and arrested them together with ‘WY’ stimulant tablets.

A case has been opened against them with NaMaSa (Kengtaung)MaYa(pa)7/2019 under Section 19(a)
and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Sub stances Law.

3. Out of the information sent to the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department, so far a total of 896 cases have been opened files as of 21 December 2019. A total of 1,411 people, including 1,177 men and 234 women had been arrested with 7167.6194 g of heroin, 1,347.32 g of ICE, 40,338.82166g of opium, 404.98 g of low-quality opium, 53230.76g of speciosa powder, 12097.32 g of speciosa, 2.5 liters of liquid speciosa, 453,412 stimulant tablets, 8,760.42 g of marijuana, 0.1 liters of opium tincture, 520.28 g of opium blocks, 60 g of poppy seeds, 55.45 g of crushed stimulant tablet powder, 0.001 g of crushed ecstasy powder, 19 firearms, different kinds of 257 cartridges and one grenade. Efforts for fighting the drug trafficking has been stepped up and the department will report on further exposed cases.

To seize further drugs and to arrest drugs dealers, people are urged to inform the Ministry of Home Affairs, region and state governments and to inform huge cases of drug trafficking and other suspicious cases directly to the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department of the Office of the President via following contact numbers:
